All Emotions Matter

7/17/2018

What, ALL my emotions matter? I thought I was suppose to cover those ugly ones up, pretend they don't exist, don't let them out, hold them in, then burst.

Let's look at this view point.

Emotions are your personal self giving information. Your emotional scale. Indicator of which direction are you going...
One of  two ways...
Feeling good with no resistance or not feeling  good with resistance going on.
The most important thing for you is to be aware of "where your at" and then ask yourself does the "thought" I am thinking give me an increment of relief bringing me closer to feeling good.  Note: Feeling good is ALL anyone really ever wants. We do all sorts of things to make ourselves better.

Interesting note here: every fiber of your being desires to feel love. When your not feeling good ( lower end scale emotion )  that is an indicator that your well being is out of sync with how you were created to be. True self empowerment occurs  with the alignment of the good feeling - well being connection.

Right here we need to pause and tell you to stop beating yourself up on how your feeling. It is also not up to anyone else to decide what is good for you. Example: If someone was in depression and then moved up out of depression and was just angry, does that feel like a step up instead of a step down? Step up! For someone who was in depression for them to make a huge leap to happy immediately,  doesn't that seem like a overwhelming task? I hope your feeling where I am going with this.

All emotions matter, some are a step up or step down to what you are desiring. Take the sting and condemnation out that they are bad or wrong. They are your personal message to guide you onto a new path.

Tip: Deliberately reach for a particular thought that brings a better feeling than the one your thinking.  This technique practiced repeatedly will regain your power. That will turn into a habit.

Joyful Journey,

Gratitude

Hectic schedules fill the lives of almost every person today. Our lives can often put us into a state of mental anxiety.  Financial pressures, health issues or relationship problems are a part of everyone’s life from time to time. These things will vary in magnitude and intensity from person to person but one thing is the same and that is all of us will face at least one of these hurdles some time in our lives. The thing that does vary widely is the way that each person deals with them.
In these times of high stress what then can be done to relieve the pressure that these issues can cause. One thing is for sure though, and that is this, if we don’t find a way to effectively deal with these types of problems they can have devastating consequences. It is in times such as these that people often turn to things such as over eating, elicited relationships, drugs or alcohol or all the above. These things offer only temporary relief at their best but, each of these type things make as much sense as hitting yourself in the head with a hammer to get rid of a head ache! In other words, they simply make things in your life much worse. There is one thing though that will help. This thing is available all the time to everyone.
Wallace Wattles famous quote from his book the Science of getting Rich sums it up.
The whole process of mental adjustment and atonement can be summed up in one word: Gratitude!
The apostle Paul said it this way in first Thessalonians 5:18 “in all things give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
This act of being grateful for what you have is a definite life changer it will shift your thoughts and feelings from what your life lacks to the abundance that you already have. When your thoughts shift to that of the blessings that you already have in your life it is forming a foundation for future abundance.
Gratitude, turns what you have into enough, it will bring order in to replace chaos. It gives us understanding about our past, offers peace for today and opens doors of vision for tomorrow!
When your problems are weighing heavy on your shoulders more than likely the last thing that you will want to do is to be thankful; but do it anyway because you are now aware of the power that gratitude has. It is in fact the mental adjustment that has the power to save your marriage or any troubled relationship no matter who or what it is with.
All things are relational.  Your thoughts are relative to your actions. Your feelings are relative to the health of your body.  Your relationships with money either attracts it to you or pushes it away from you. How you relate with people will either draw them to you or cause them to draw back from you.  Animals are especially keen to this law of nature. They are drawn to those that are peaceful and they instinctively move away from confusion and chaotic thoughts.

Since practicing gratitude is a peaceful lifter of your attitude the grateful mind is filled with high desire. The best thing that anyone can do is to develop the habit of being grateful.  You can train yourself to be thankful first by making a list every day of the things in your life that you are grateful for. Then practice it every chance  you get.  Repetition is the first law of learning so repeat your thoughtful attitude and behavior over and over and over again.  When you are genuinely appreciative for the people that you meet on a regular basis your life will become supported with good and it will bring more of the same.  Like gravity, being in a continuous mental state of gratitude is a law of nature. It holds the power to instantly and dramatically change your attitude for the better and the results that you get in life are directly tied to your attitude. Your attitude is your responsibility.

Attitude is Everything!

3/9/2018

Who hasn’t heard this cliché; Attitude is Everything!?
How is this true? Why then does the word attitude without a qualifying word in front of it, such as great, brilliant or wonderful etc, usually have a negative condition? I think that when most people hear the word attitude that automatically triggers the thought of words such as bad, poor or some other word like them.

Merrian Webster defines the word attitude like this; 1.the arrangement of the parts of the body; posture 2. a mental position with regard to fact or state; feeling or emotion toward a fact or state and 3. An organismic state of readiness to respond in a characteristic way to a stimulus  (as an object, concept, or situation).

Studying the definition of a word can explain and give you a much deeper understanding to the Why’s and How’s.

Who hasn’t seen a person with a poor posture and what does it trigger in your mind? In contrast what does a person with a straight back and an elegant fluid moving posture.   These upright people are usually smiling and pleasant to be around and are very drawing or attractive we say.  Now, with the further study we have done on the word attitude we now have a better understanding of exactly what is at the core of these postures.

We also often know how another person will respond to certain things even before they respond because of their habitual attitude.  Unless they respond completely different than we expected them to, to which we respond, wow, that was completely out of character for that person.

So then since the attitude is so important to how others perceive us, and we now know that ours is predictable by those who know us, do you think that this predictable behavior could have anything to do with the results that we are getting in our, relationships, finances or our health?  The answer to this question when it comes with the awareness that we have just laid out is an obvious… Yes, Yes, Yes our life results are directly tied to our attitude!

The attitude is everything and it cuts like a two edged sword for good or bad depending on our habitual responses.  The good news is that your attitude can be gained to be good and here are some tips to turn your attitude to the uplifting positive one that everyone admires!

First you need to know where your  are at on this journey. Remember this is your personal journey, no one else’s.

  1. Elevate your attitude towards yourself; what is your self talk?
  2. Elevate your attitude towards your environment; what is your typical response, positive or negative?
  3. What is your attitude towards others; are you encouraging or attempting to fix them?
  4. Change; are you willing to be different? Do you want to be an influencer of good?

Tips of  Change  for a better brilliant attitude:
  • Make a decision to Think – Act – Talk – Walk with a good attitude.
  • Walk with upright posture of worth.
  • Gratitude; start your day with a thankful list and add the “why” to it.
  • If  you don’t have anything “Good”  to say, don’t say anything at all.
  • Stay in the “Now” that is where life happens! Past is gone, let it go!
  • 3 S’s – See – Speak – Surround yourself with what you desire to be.
  • Expect success! Successful people talk about the good they desire, not others.
  • Be – Do – Have; first become what you desire so you can then “do” and “have.”
  • Repetition is Key! Train yourself daily to choose good thoughts, words and actions. This will eventual become a habit! Develop your “Mental Muscle.”
  • Speak of only good health. The body is listening.
  • Don’t broadcast your personal problems that only feeds them to increase.

Remember a good healthy attitude will send you to the top!

New Life....

New life

As I am writing this it is spring and new life is apparent everywhere you look. Grass is getting a good start birds are chirping with joyful sounds, we just love this time of year.

The anticipation and excitement that comes with the hope of a new season is filled with hopeful promise that this will be a great year! Transition is a great thing isn't it? Why then do we resist it so much in our lives? The fact is that we and the environment we live in are in a continuous state of transition. We are either developing or declining because nothing stays the same here on this earth.

To resist the executable change we are experiencing in our lives creates conflict and who needs more of that? I sure don't and I'm pretty sure you don't either unless you practice law. Then you welcome it because it is job security. In reality as much as none of us like it we will experience it from time to time so we might as well accept it for what it is, change what we can then forgive the rest and roll on!

Some changes are warm and fuzzy feeling like new born foals and calves and puppy's and kittens and human baby’s. While others are down right frightening like the losses such as a divorce or financial issues or health problems or worse the loss of some one you love. This is life as we know it here on this planet. Some how though, change wins out and we pick back up and march on day by day. This is why the apostle Paul tells us to think on things that are good and hopeful and loving and kind which are the things of the Spirit. We are simply passing through on our journey here on earth, we came from being perfect before we were born and are headed to perfection when we pass in between we live in imperfection.

There are universal laws at play that we cannot deny that effect our lives such as gravity, the law of motion, the law of vibration and the law of relativity. One law that we tend to forget about is that what ever you focus on tends to increase. So then don't focus on the weeds that life has for you but rather focus on the good things that Paul tells us to and live in hope and love and peace and be joyful so that you will attract more of that into your life!

Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise… NLT

How old would you be?

3/3/2016

How old would you be if you forgot how old you were?

Every time I step onto a horse I find myself in a conversation within myself. This is a conversation that no one can hear except me and I am so greatly that in recent years I have learned how to use this conversation to my advantage.  I know I run the risk here of having you think I am crazy as I have admittedly said I am talking to myself, I would venture to say that if you will just listen, your having these conversations as well.  These conversations have tremendous influence on everything in your life and I mean EVERYTHING!  Your relationships, your finances, your health, therefore it should not come as a surprise that these conversation will effect your riding as well.

The image that you hold of yourself is actually created by these conversations.  Do you like your self image?  The answer to this question is extremely important and is deserving of attention and some close examination.  How you see yourself works like a sealing in your life.  It can be very limiting because your level in any area of your life will not exceed how you see yourself.  This self image is a store house for habitual behavior and habitual behavior is essentially your automatic pilot in your life. I might add here that I am not talking about prideful arrogance when I ask the question do you like your self image.

It is to your benefit for you to understand this statement; you were created by God, God is good and He creates no junk, therefore you are good and are deserving of all good things as I believe this is Gods will for your life. I Timothy 4:4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude.

The exercise of GRAITITUDE will never fail to strengthen your faith and renew your purpose.

I now ask you this question to think about, are you doing your best?
If the honest answer to this question is no, then the next question is why not? Could it be that the answer to this question, why not, is that you hold a self image that tells you that you deserve less than you really want and desire. The image you hold of yourself was programmed into you early on in life. The great news here is if it was programmed into you, you can install a new program by being mindful of these conversations you have with yourself.  Choose only positive possibility thinking. When anything other than that shows up, recognize it as an old program and refuse to take hold of them.  You see you already have all the goodness of the divine infinite spirit of God living inside of you; you are God’s greatest creation. This means you have everything you need to succeed. Programming a new automatic pilot into your life deliberately and consciously will start a transformation of change that will refresh you with hope and joy for the expectation of good things to come.

Back to the question, how old would you be if you forgot how old your were? You see in that perceptive age is a state of mind, haven’t we all seen young people that act much older than their years and old people that act much younger than their years, how can this be? Pure and simple the image that you hold of yourself.  Fact is we all get older physically, but mentally staying youthful and energetic in thinking will lead to ones desired winning image.

O Christmas Tree ......

The Christmas Gift…

Oh Christmas tree oh Christmas tree, Thy leaves are so unchanging. Not only green when summer’s here but also when it’s cold and drear. Oh Christmas tree Thy leaves are so unchanging.  Such pleasure do you bring me, thee candles shine so brightly! There is only splendor for the sight. How richly God has decked thee! Thou bidst us true and faithful be, and trust in God unchangingly. O Christmas tree! How richly God has decked thee!

Keep those words in your mind as we turn back to that silent night where there was no room for Joseph and Mary to have comfort to give birth to this child.  Who was this child? That baby in the manager is God! Immanuel! Matthew 1:23 BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.”

Christmas is a celebration of God’s love toward mankind. The innocence of a babe as a tender child, an expressed image of God.  Matthew 1:21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.

What a silent holy peaceful night as the Savior entered the world.

Jesus our Lord the Son of God took on the body of human flesh so He could bear in that body the sins of the world.  Grace abounds much to all who believe. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Apostle Paul stated in Colossians 1:19-20 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him 20) and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Christmas is the celebration of God’s ultimate “gift” to you.   Embrace Gods unchanging love. Unwrap your gift by believing Jesus died for your sins, put your trust in him and receive your mercy and grace. This year as you gather around the Christmas tree shining brightly may your heart be warmed with how faithful and true Gods love is and always will be for you.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1

Merry Christmas and goodwill to all,

Focus, where is yours?

4/17/2015

Focus is a tool that works like a double edge sword.  What I mean by that is it will work on your behalf for good or can work against you.  The definition of focus is the center of interest or activity “this generation has made the environment a focus of attention” center, focal point, center of attention, hub, pivot, heart, core, cornerstone.  Focus is becoming harder and harder to do for us today.  Our attention is continually assailed with advertisement, social media, and too many activities in our lives. We find ourselves so scattered and overwhelmed at times we wonder if life will ever return to some sense of normality.

Lately I have been studying the effects of naturally occurring laws such as gravity, law of inertia, law of vibration and I believe focus can be categorized into one of these principals of the earth we live on.  Think about being in a dark room and lighting one candle. You can see the candle clearly in the dark but the light is spread out in so many different directions unless you hold the candle close to something you can’t see very well with the light of just one candle, however: if you concentrate the light of the candle into one focused spot such as a flashlight would do now the light cuts through the darkness and lights up whatever it is your focusing on and you can see that object.  I think its interesting to note to that will be the only object in the room that you can see, that doesn’t mean there are not other objects in the room naturally but the focus of the light and your attention focused in one spot will illuminate the one thing that your looking at and allow you to see clearly what it is.

So could it be in this fast pace world that we live if we could focus our attention on only one thing at a time we would be much more effective in dealing with that one thing than we are when we allow our attention to be scattered around on everything.  I believe that the lack of focus could possibly be the number one cause in us feeling overwhelmed, overworked, exhausted.  I also find it interesting that the best way to deal with these naturally occurring principals is to just become aware that they exist. When you become enlightened to the fact that their at work whether you recognize them or not, suddenly that in itself  will give you the answer to how to deal with it.  I mentioned earlier that focus can work against you just as well as it can work for you.

Remember when you were a small child learning to ride a bicycle and you were struggling to keep it upright and if you could keep it up and moving it tended to stay up, however, objects in your path perhaps your dads car would draw your focus attention and the harder you tried on focusing on not hitting it the more focused you become on the car and the next thing you find yourself explaining to your dad the dent or scratch down his car depending on how fast you were going.  That is an example of how focus can work against you it’s not wrong or right it just is, it’s not wrong or right that gravity pulls objects downward it just is.  Likewise whatever you focus your attention on will be dealt with and the things that are vying for your attention will be placed on the back burner until you can line your focus upon one those.

I believe if a person will take one thing to completion at a time it will put those things to rest so to speak so that you can clear your slate and breath.  Not easy to do but it’s also not hard to do.  The thing that is necessary here is simply to become aware that your focus has been allowed to get scattered. It’s impossible to shoot a gun at in two directions at the same time and if you never learn the art of mastering your focus, hitting the target will be a random experience.  But becoming a master of focus bulls eyeing the target will be a more regularly occurring feet.

 What Is For Sure.....?

1/16/2015

There are times when it may seem as though time just drags on and on and that nothing will ever change. These are usually found in the very young people that are eagerly a waiting for something that they are sure will make them happy. This might be an event such as waiting on Christmas to get here or perhaps the next birthday will somehow be the magical mile stone. What ever the anticipated date is, in the mind of the person who is doing the anticipating, time seems to be some sort of barrier to them having what they want.

Just shortly after this time period in our lives we somehow find that we have stepped into a phase of existence that is moving so fast that we are exhausted. No more than our heads hit the pillow at night it seems like the alarm is blaring in our ears to get up. It sometimes seems like no matter how much you hurry you are always late! Once more time is against you but this time instead of being in front of you as a block it is behind you relentlessly pushing you forward! I don't even remember jumping or climbing or even recognizing that I had changed positions with it! Did you? Now that you are here though you can read all kinds of books and go to all kinds of seminars on time management or perhaps anger management, trying to find some sort of answers to what and why and how in the heck can I change?

One thing is certain, though we don't really know what the future holds.  I believe this is for our own protection. Do you really want to know ahead of time when some sort of tragedy is going to turn your life upside down, I don't. My plate is full enough right now with out actually knowing ahead of time, of the inevitable events of life that lie ahead.

Though none of us are guaranteed another breath here on this earth there are still some things that are certain and those are the promises that God himself spoke to Apostle Paul to pass on to those who believe Jesus lived and died and lives again . These promises are found in the Pauline epistles and there is “comfort” for the hurting found there, there is “certainty for life” found there, there is “Hope” found there and the greatest “Love” is found there and the “Peace” that surpasses all understanding is found there for you directly from God! That is what is for certain!

When you believe this with no works of yourself this is the priceless Grace God has freely given to you, simply by believing that Jesus his son died for you and he lives now and he will return!!

Hope is alive!
